Bad things do happen to good people. We cannot comprehend why a merciful God allows this. There is a process involved in coming to terms with the fact that we may never know why these things happen. God desires to carry us through those incredibly difficult times and He promises to provide every resource we need to deal with the difficulties we encounter. He is a God of mercy and cares deeply about us.
- How would you define the word mercy?

What does God’s mercy extend to us? ( Hebrews 4:16, Eph 2:4, Micah 7:18)

Faith1- I am sorry. That is not what God intends for you.
sunshine- You know...when I faced some of my "biggest" fears... I had to face them, and even look at the "worst case scenarios". Even then, the certainty of God's loving presence brought comfort.
Faith1- Are you in any sort of danger IneedFaith?

Tena- my mother is a very good christian and for a long time had a battle with fear
reflection- I would think that if you hear the word then you can have faith and it comes by hearing the word, so how do you mean that regardiing inter faith.In what do you mean about sharing inter faith with someone? explain

cwt- 2 Tim 1:7 takes about not giving us a spirit of fear but of power and sound mind

Faith1- So it is maybe more of a fear of trusting God?
IneedFaith- No, just fear in living in our new world...
reflection- yeah but faith comes by hearing the word is their another way you are describing

Tena- there is also a verse about sudden fear " Be not afraid of sudden fear"

IneedFaith- But its fear like i never felt before, i have 2 small children (like many of us)
co-host- The more we know and experiance God s character the easier it is give are fear to him because we can trust his character
Faith1- Yes, the events are terrible. I keep reminding myself that God is sovereign in all of this.

IneedFaith- Thats why I want to experience God, but find it hard and don't know where to start.

IneedFaith- No
Lea- 1 John 4:15 says, Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God

Faith1- The way to have a connection to God is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
reflection- ineedfaith, you start with the word, then you believe in your heart and faith is a substance of believing in what you do not see, but if you see it then you wont have faith because you do see it, and have nothing to hope for.
cwt- Ineedfaith you can have a personal relationship with God now if you want it
IneedFaith- Yes, and I need that relationship with Christ, to know
cwt- that personal relationship is your for the taking
Faith1- God loves you and He wants you to experience peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faith1- But the problem is our separation from God. God gave us a will and freedom of choice. He never forces anyone to choose Him.
Lea- the scripture in John 3:16 is such a good one, For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
cwt- our sin is what separated us from God
Faith1- God's way of bridging our separation from Him was the cross. Jesus died on the cross and rose again. By doing this He paid the penalty for our sins. This bridged the gap between God and people. God has provided the only way through Jesus but we must make a choice.
reflection- you can share the word of God and if you believe he sent his son to deliver people out of the power sin has over them then when you belive in him then a transformation of a new creation of a new man begins, and then as you believe with your faith in him then you grow in him and become more and more like him in the image of god through his son jesus who is your savor, that will lead you home to forever be with the Lord your God
cwt- and God loved us so much that He sent Jesus his /son to die in our place to pay the penelty for our sin
Faith1- When we receive Christ and trust Jesus as Lord and Savior we do this by personal invitation.
reflection- sorry made a mistake ......to forever be with the lord your God for eternity.
Faith1- Really it involves admitting that I am a sinner, being willing to turn away from our sins (repent), confessing that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the grave, and through prayer inviting Jesus to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit.

Faith1- Thank you that you died on the cross for me so that I could be forgive and set free.
Faith1- Thank you that You offer me forgiveness and the gift of Your spirit . I now receive that gift.
Faith1- Please come into my life by your Holy Spirit to be with me forever.

IS54- I couldn't handle the power and justice of God, until I understood His great mercy and magnificent love for each of us individually. Seeing Him work through others who were & are less than perfect, helps us believe that.

cwt- Eph. 1: 19, 20 talks about God's power of raising Christ from the dead being available to us, what are your thoughts on this?
cwt- personally I think that is is so cool
sunshine- As believers, we have been crucified w/ Christ...and are to walk in newness of life.
reflection- our rightousness are as filthy rags, but through Gods mercys, and grace we shine and reflect his character as we grow in him to be more like him by reading his word, holding fast to our faith in him, and doing what he asks of us

reflection- The bible is the manual of life and tells us exactly what his will is, because its written in his word upon our faith, and established in our priority to fulfill the deed of his will

Faith1- I think in order to live in obedience we need to "grow up" in our faith. When we see our need for God's Word our spiritual appetites increase.
