Has God ever surprised you? Just shocked your socks off? The dictionary defines "amaze" as "to fill with great surprise or sudden wonder;astonish." Come to tonight's chat as we discuss "101 Amazing Things about God," and take time to reflect on some of the ways God truly is amazing!
- What sorts of incidents have you experienced that have caused you to see God as amazing?
- What words would you give to women who are lacking faith right now?
- How has God shown Himself to you in times of challenge and despair?
- How has prayer affected your faith in God?
- What steps can we each take in our spiritual journey to discover an amazing God?

God teaches us some specific things when when in the
- valley

[Nae] Nor should it alter ours. Usually that is when he is doing
- his greatest work
cwt> no...help...I don't think the bottom is the point. God's
- arms are underneath you - no matter your struggle...even if you- don't feel they are there

cwt> God isn't out to punish you. He loves you!
[Nae] His love is real.
cwt> even discipline is brought into our lives for the purpose
- of pruning or refining us

[help] then why why why must i suffer so much
[Nae] Just trust that it is and lean on that hope.help

cwt> I don't know why you must suffer so much help...but I do
- know that your suffering has not stopped his love for you.
- There are many reasons that we suffer
[Nae] In Psalm it say that it is good that I was afflicted, that
- I may learn your statutes.
cwt> Pain has a purpose --- as long as allow it to work in our
- lives
cwt> We have a choice to let it work or to let it harden us

- promises He's given...such as His unfailing love

[Meg] God deals out a measure of suffering in everyones life. I
- pray for others to take my mind off mine. Idon't want to sin
- while its happenigng

- Christ handled the gray times.

[Nae] I am only 35, I have never been able to have children, I
- had to have a radical hystorectomy last July due to cancer
- cells, and have recently been told that I have a spot on my
- lung.

- great work in you as long as you are still having trials.

- understanding to Nae in her challenging circumstances. Lord give- her doctors wisdom and a sense of urgency in Naes

[Patti] In my trials, I have learned that it isn't about God
- changes my circumstances but how He was changing me

- your heart too
[blessing] Lord you say that suffering produces perseverence,
- give this to Nae dear Lord, and that perseverance brings hope, and may she show that to all around her

[mrk] Nae the firs t time in here they prayed for me and God did a work these are people that love God
cwt> Jesus did do some things when he was in trail...the first
- thing is that he got alone with God and prayed.

- a quiet place to pray
[Nae] I have not a doubt. They have been praying for me.

[Patti] Nae, I may not know you but you have touched my heart - specifically tonight

[co-host] something that amazed me when it really hit me, that
- Christ, God Himself, took others to pray with Him in the garden.

- concern for us
cwt> God's hand is moved when his people pray

[Nae] I wasn't looking for pity. only to tell help that even in
- the midst of the storm, there is joy in belonging to and knowing him

[Nae] I would not want to be in control. I make enough messes as is.
[cwt] God put us in a "body" for a reason...didn't He!

[tad] he knows what we are capable of...is what i am saying
[mrk] It is a day by day today is enough trouble

[Nae] I just want to be used by him to help others clean up their mess
[help] i guess i totaly have to let him control but im new and that is hard

[cwt] We forget often too, that we are in a battle with two sides...our new nature, and our old nature

[Lea] He that comes to God must first believe that I am, and I reward those who diligently seek Me. Hebrews

[cwt] yes. Is'nt that wonderful! not only in the Valley, but walks with us through the valley. His rod and staff they comfort us...

[cwt] Throught the Holy Spirit God gives us the grace to walk in the valley and to see His hand ...where all is dark...

[Lea] Another important part of discovering our amazing God...is to obey His Word...put the Word into action in our lives.

[cwt] hard sometimes to be doers and not just hears only...a very key point is to check up how obedient we are to what we know

[Lea] our pastor recently said that it is important to remember that God is smarter that we are..He does know what is best
[cwt] but God wants us to rest in Him...and be honest in our grief and struggle.

[Meg] Its really important to find a good pastor/teacher to explain the word to us and show us how to apply it in our lives
[tad] no matter what we are going through
[help] that is what all my friends expect outa of me STRONG and i don't feel very strong

[mrk] God made us to have emotions when we see suffering that is not weak
[w.o.v] You don't have to be strong, his strength is made perfect in our weakness
[cwt] God wants you to find His strength...
[Lea] even we we are too weak to have any faith left...God is still faithful to us, to help us and give us strength

[tad] you are just a baby in the Lord right now help, you need to grow in him, and even then its his strength in us, not ours
[cwt] There is a great book here on Suffering...it is called "When God weeps" by joni Erikson Tada. I highly recommend it

[cwt] From the perspective of a woman who spent her life in a wheelchair from her early teens, it is a tremendous book on the struggle to understand suffering
[tad ] I still have struggles....but we need to keep runnng the good race
[Meg] He said his strength is manifest in our weakness When we are weak he is strong

[Rosie61] We don't grow from our mountain-top experiences, the valley is where the grass grows and that where we grow
[Lea] help, what you can do is to stand on the truth of God's Word...example...Lord, you say that your strength is manifest in weakness..I receive your strength now In Jesus name...
